MONDAY
MAY 29

++This
chart represents the highlights of my day in a series of abstract
color graphs.
++The
evening's events will include the following: 2 guests, super grilled
cheeseburgers (blue or cheddar), potato chips, bbq beans (with bacon)
and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. To make it even more of
a fun night, we will be viewing March of the Penguins, which I hope
to be short and good.

++SIDE RANT: We've all seen the special
Google where they incorporate
some illustration into their home page logo - - you know, like for
Sherlock Holmes' Birthday. Did you see what they did for today,
Memorial Day, a national holiday?
Yeah... they did nothing. You suck, Google.
SUNDAY
MAY 28
++This
3 day weekend couldn't have come at a better time. We have been
able to do even more work toward getting our house ready to put
on the market. We had loaded bunches of stuff into a small storage
unit--best plan ever. There's still some odds and ends around but
i think we will call our agent this week to come out and take pictures.
I can't wait, cause i'm tired of talking about getting the house
ready.
++This weekend, I have 4 paintings up at a group show in Massachusetts.
It's fun and I can't wait to see if they sell. In the meantime,
I am busy with some new peices. I didn't think i would be able to
paint with all the house chaos, but when a few peices sell or you
get into a show, you get a burst of inspiration.
++The plan tomorrow night is to make some kick ass cheeseburgers
and apple pie. i keep saying I want to watch a movie at home.. something
long like Narnia but adam can be weird about watching movies. I
know, it doesn't make sense.
++For movie night friday, we watched PIRANHA,
1978. A great film with more than enough shots of piranhas nipping
at fleshy arrms, toes and ears. Is there anything better than a
'when animals attack' theme for films? i love it.
SATURDAY
MAY 20
++I
am forever looking for my one mint lip gloss from bath and body
works. I wonder if i bought 10 of them.. one for my car, one for
my desk at work, one for my bedside, one for my art table, one for
the tv room, one for the couch/sitting area, one for the laundry
room.. yea, then I would be set.
++I have been eating the snot out of dried cranberries. I get them
in bulk from the grocery store. I'm sure to get sick of them soon.
Just have to keep eating them until that happens.
++We can all sleep better tonight. My husband bought a flag kit
for our mailbox and installed it today. I know the mailman will
be very happy. i'll have to come up with something to mail so that
I can put the flag up on Monday.
WEDNESDAY
MAY 17

++Our
mailbox flag has been missing for a couple years. The mailman goes
to our box everyday to deliver bills, credit card offers and valupak
coupons. Not sure what difference the flag would make if he's opening
that box all the time, regardless, if there's anything in it.
Last week, we got a notice from our postmaster that if we didn't
get a flag for our box soon, then our mail could be discontinued
or temporarily suspended.
This is the gem of an illustration that was in the top corner of
that form.
Awesome, isn't it?
I like how, if your mailbox is crappy, then your grass also needs
mowing because clearly you are a lazy son of a bitch.
FRIDAY
MAY 12

++Tonight
I am printing some baby shower invites that I designed for a friend
of mine. My friend loves pigs and is having a boy... Therefore,
blue pigs of course. I doubt there's a cuter theme for a shower
than blue pigs. In this case, they are sleeping.
++We made that grilled salad for dinner again tonight. Don't forget
to add some fresh lemon juice. That salad is goooood. I predict
that we will burn out on it. (..... ha)
++Our favorite thai restaurant, opened a south location which is
about 2 miles from our house. We ate there opening night and looked
around in disbelief. Dreams DO come true... They really really do.
SUNDAY
MAY 7
++When
we first got our Nordstrom, I thought the live piano music was classy
and elegant. Today, when I was shopping for shoes, it felt as though
I was trapped in an endless loop of closing credits for Terms of
Endearment -- which isn't the kind of peppy team spirit I need when
I've been trying on jeans. He needs to stick with classical music
instead of covering pop music.
++Our house is in complete upheavel and it feels good. We've been
talking for so long about getting out of this house that it's great
to finally be doing it. I'm going to try and keep that positive
attitude, but will probably be laughing at this post in less than
a week. Boxes, painting, stuff piled on stuff, carpet.
++We watched someone on FOOD TV make this grilled caesar salad.
Adam fixed it tonight and we agreed it was very delicious. You take
some whole romaine and cover it in olive oil, maybe some garlic,
grill it for 3/4 min on each side and then toss it with parm cheese
and some anchovy juice.
MONDAY
MAY 1

++Before May can begin, we have to talk about these lovely deviled
eggs that my mother-in-law brought over Easter sunday. Aren't they
perfect? (This photo my husband took is a little menacing and dramatic,
but i can assure you those eggs were perfectly cute and innocent).
Great idea!
++Friday night we watched CHUD
(1984 Horror) which will now be known as a complete and total movie
night disaster. It was boring without enough scary monster shots.
And to boot, we didn't even see the end because of technical difficulties.
And all that was after an equally bad Mexican meal. The enchiladas
were the size of rolled tacos. (can't imagine what the food would
have tasted like minus my margarita...)
++I am about 6 weeks into my new job. Its safe to say i've settled
into the new routine and pace of work and reading blogs doesn't
fit in with that new regime. It seems hard to make reading them
a priority in my free time. And keeping a blog makes more sense
when you're reading them.. For me it does. Now that I don't read
them, it makes blogging seem like a task even more foreign than
before. I'm going to do my best to stay connected.
I must miss the amateur
gourmet blog the most. Reading a few posts here and there isn't
the same. Its the daily chuckle when you're bored at work that counts.
++Starting friday, we will make our first big steps into home repair
to get ourselves on the market. There's about 3/4 semi big projects
to take care of. I truly hope that we'll be on the market by end
of May at the latest. We even snagged our first batch of boxes in
front of the liquor store -- I started packing one and realized
I needed some newspaper/packing materials. Packing is a pain but
it IS a good opportunity to dust everything off and rethink the
clutter. We've been in this house for almost 6 years. THere's no
shortage of extra crap around here.

I would like to leave you with these beautiful
rings. Check them out.
